General Rules and Information

Hi people! We are a community interested in WoW. Our main purpose is to develop a universal MMORPG server, search for bugs and repair them.

Player's codex

Not knowing the rules is no excuse!
Chat and channel policy

   * Spoken language: English on all public channels (world, worldbg, WorldTrade). These are our official channels on this server and should be open for anyone. Therefore, we only accept English and bypassing the adult language filter or using excessive rude language is not allowed. Questions in other languages will not be answered. The only official language  is English. So, if you are reporting a bug or requesting assistance, you must use English.
    * In game channels:
          * Main channel is world (/join world).
          * If you want to sell something use the WorldTrade channel (/join WorldTrade), or post it at the auction hour.
          * If you are looking for a group or more members, use the LFG/LFM tool (default key-binding 'I') or the LFMHorde or LFMAlliance channel (/join LFMHorde or /join LFMAlliance). Players are not allowed to use the world channel for this.

          * As on world, on the standard WoW channels, excessive rude language and bypassing the adult language filter are forbidden and will be punished. Other languages, however, are allowed.
    * The usage of scripts and/or any tools or addons to speak in colours on all public channels is strictly prohibited.
    * Linking to images or other media which are rude, obscene, racist and/or inappropriate for children (12+) in any public channel will not be tolerated. Breaking this rule will result in punishment.
    * The mature language filter is present only as a secondary means of suppression. Just that it exists does NOT give you permission to use excessive adult language.

Forum and Shoutboard Policy

    * Forum posts containing or linking to images or other media that are rude, obscene, racist and/or inappropriate for children (12+) will not be tolerated. Breaking this rule will result in punishment.
    * Forum signatures must adhere to the following:
          * Max. 3 userbars (350x19 pixels), max. size 20kB per userbar.
          * Or, max. one image (350x60 pixels), max. size 70kB.
          * Or, max. one image (160x100 pixels), max. size 70kB.
    * Forum avatars must adhere to the following:
          * Allowed dimensions are 90x90 and max.

Bug abuse, exploit and hacking policy

    * Do not use any hacks, exploits and other cheats.
    * Do not exploit bugs! If you encounter any bug, report it to a GM, on the forum or ShoutBoard if urgent.
    * Do not exploit bugged quest items! (Items that summon an NPC or apply a buff/debuff used outside the quest they were intended for).
    * If you find a bugged spell, do not take advantage of this in PvP. Expect people to screenshot your abuse and report it.
    * If you find yourself doing something that appears to cause crashes, immediately stop doing this and report this to a GM. (Shoutboard, in-game chat, bugreporting system, forum,...)

Known bugged spells

The priest spell rapture
(anyone found useing this spell will be deleveld to 1 and if found with it again you will be banned)

Using bugged spells in PvP will be treated according to the situation. If you abuse a bug, then expect to be banned for at least a week. If we find that someone was already baned (in history) for using the same bugged spell we will ban you for ever :).

If someone abuses a bugged spell on you, remember to take a screenshot of your combat-log to verify the abuse. More information can be found here.

GM Interaction policy

    * Admins reserve the right to banish anyone from the server without telling the reason.
    * You are required to respect the GMs and Admins as the highest authority and to obey the resolution of a GM.
    * Players are not allowed to impersonate GMs or Admins nor are they allowed to use names similar to GM's or Admin's.
    * Do not ask a GM for levels, talents, gold, items or for teleporting when you are too lazy to go by foot.
    * You can ask GM for missing quests, missing quest items.. But not for other items, like gear and gold.
    * We don't exchange and/or make a new character for new players on this server! Neither do we change race, class or name of the characters.
(Names will be flagged for rename only if the GMs determine the name is inappropriate).
    * Do not waste a GMs' time asking questions that can be answered by other players or found on the Internet. Like where is the nearest class trainer, item drop, NPC etc.

Instances:

    * Admins or GMs may close bugged NPCs, including bosses, from non-WotLK instances if is determined they cause crashes or for another reason need to be removed.

Closed/Altered non-WotLK instances:

we will post here as soon as we close /alter any instances

    * Respect each other, respect GM's and enjoy playing on
Shadow of Chaos.

Warning GMs will NEVER ask you for your password! Never tell your password to anybody, Admins may ask for your pw if they think there is a problem with your account and need to check
(you can change your pw after).

Bugs reporting

    * If you have found some bug(s), first thing you should do is to ensure that it is really a bug. For example you think that some quest drop is missing and that you find that you are looting wrong creature.
    * Then you can post it on the forum.
    * When posting on the forum please try and be exact. If you are skilled enough to suggest some solution you can add your suggestion.
    * For example good bug report messages are:
broken quest: - missing drop item from
      or
broken warlock spell: - quick description
    * Bad bug report is:
GM plz help me i have problem with quest, pls help.
    * If you see that someone has reported a bug incorrectly, you can write a simple answer to the post. For example if someone has posted a bug which has already been fixed or never existed, you can post something like :
quest: works - you killed wrong mob ;)
    * Thanks for bug reports and be patient.
